podcast resources

Welcome to the resources page! Below is a list of everything that we use to study, record, and edit our podcast episodes. We’ve shared all the helpful resources that we have come to love so that hopefully you can grow and learn in your spiritual walk.

We also have our own resource, the Biblical Exegesis bible study printable! This PDF will help you study the bible by breaking down a verse into its original text and learning the historical context so you can discover your own interpretation of God’s word!

Education

Blue Letter Bible Institute*
This is a fantastic resource if you are itching to learn more in major areas of Christian belief and practice. Each course is designed to be used for either self-study, home Bible study, or for the classroom. The best part is that it’s free and accessible! My favorite course is Biblical Hermeneutics by Eric Lewis!

The Master’s Seminary*
A great YouTube channel that has a ton of education courses and videos. My personal favorite is the Hebrew Grammar I classes taught by Dr. Bill Barrick. The YouTube channel states that it is a “pastoral ministry—to preach the Word of God, reach the world for Christ, and teach others to do the same.”

Logos Software
This software is wonderful for any budding theologian who needs to keep all their information, books, sermons, and bookmarks in one place. It’s NOT cheap but if teaching and preaching are in your future, this software is a must-have!

Websites

Blue Letter Bible*
A fantastic website that allows for an in-depth study of God’s word through their online reference library and study tools. We love this site for digging into the original biblical Hebrew & Greek text!

Studylight*
This website has a tremendous amount of free bible resources such as historical writings, language tools, and multiple different commentaries. We use this site a lot for the vast amount of commentaries!

Online Etymology Dictionary*
This website is a must if you are curious about the English language and the origin of specific words. We use this frequently when breaking down verses into their original text and figuring out why certain words have been used in biblical translations.

Books

William Barclay’s Daily Study Bible*
One of our favorite commentaries. William Barclay gives a wonderful insight into the New Testament and does a great job of explaining each book’s historical context, giving for a better understanding of the apostle’s teachings.

Bible Background Commentary | Old Testament
Another terrific book for getting the historical context of the Old Testament. This unique commentary provides the historical, social, and cultural background for each passage of the Old Testament.

Baker Encyclopedia of the Bible
This encyclopedia is amazing and has a ton of easy-to-read and accurate articles on everything you could imagine like history, chronology, social customs, persons, places, religious practices, and so much more.

International Standard Bible Encyclopedia*
This encyclopedia is a great free resource that contains over 9,000 topics that include articles on every name of a person or place mentioned in the Bible and all the terms in the Bible that have theological or ethical meaning.

Strong’s Concordance*
Dr. James Strong’s numbering system is the standard for identifying words with links to the original biblical Hebrew and Greek words. The numbering system ties to a particular word in English so you can easily study the meanings of the Greek and Hebrew words within the bible. (You can access this concordance by browsing verses on Blue Letter Bible)

Interlinear Bible
Our preferred bible to learn from. It included side-by-side comparisons of translations and the original Hebrew and Greek biblical text. This bible also utilizes Strong’s Concordance.

The hosting service that we use for our podcast. It’s a great service that has a very low price!

Creators We Love

Danny Cortez*
Danny is a great pastor that was our first resource when we started our faith deconstruction

Faith Uncut Podcast*
A wonderful podcast that is very similar to ours. They push the boundaries of faith and in their own words, discuss topics that’ll get you kicked out of church!

Ex-Mormons who run a commentary channel. We love their perspective and insight!
