Apple picking will always be one of my favorite family traditions. π Andrew and I have been taking the girls ever since they were tiny little babies and itβs always the very first thing that we do that kicks off the Autumn season. πWeβve been going to the same apple orchard ever since we can remember, Door Creek. Itβs a bit of a drive from us but itβs a tried and true and their grounds are always so beautiful for taking pictures! πΈ
This year we didnβt go all out like we typically do. Normally we end up buying close to ten pounds of apples and I pretty much start a bakery in my kitchen with mini apple pies π₯§ and apple caramel scones but because of how under the weather and in and out of the hospital Iβve been, we decided to just pick a small amount and keep them on the counter for eating. π
Normally when we go apple picking, the weather is always overcast but this year we had the perfect amount of sunshine without it being too muggy and hot. βοΈ I think this yearβs pictures are by far my favorite apple picking pictures as all three girls are old enough to walk and pick apples on their own. This year is the first year that she can start doing activities and holidays without an adultβs constant help. Watching the girls grow up and experience new things every year is incredibly bittersweet. π
Once we were finished picking apples, we ended up heading over to Red Robin π and had lunch and then made our way back to our house for drinks and games where we had Rhonda and Miranda over for a sleepover! It was such a fun day and another memory that makes me so incredibly grateful to have an awesome family to celebrate these moments with. π
