This post is so dang overdue! It’s been so long since I’ve been able to share one of my Coffee Musings and I am so excited to be able to share all these awesome images of this wonderful soul.

Meg and I met back in high school, a million years ago. She was two years ahead of me and we were taking the same health class together. Meg always amazed me with how graceful and soft she was. I remember her having the cutest outfits and hairstyles and I’m convinced she never had a bad hair day. After she graduated and I continued high school we fell out of touch until a few years later when the magic of Facebook and Instagram brought us back together. We spent the next several years being silent lurkers on each other’s lives until about two years ago when I started to become more open with my life and the struggles that ensued within it.

It was one day when she reached out to me about one of my posts that we got to reconnecting and talking. A few days later we jumped on FaceTime and started talking about all the things that we’ve been through in the past several years. Meg talked about how she’s a successful therapist, incorporating her faith and love in God into her passion for helping other people. We opened up about our past struggles and how God is shaping us into the women he has created us to be. After a few conversations through FaceTime and phone calls, I told her that we were taking a road trip to Vermont over the summer to see my dad and if she wanted to meet up. I asked if she wanted to get together to hang out and if she wanted to be a part of my Coffee Musings project.

A few months later Andrew and I drove to St. Albans and I was walking down the street to get to the Catalyst Coffee Bar. I walked in and snagged two seats right in front of their big and wide front windows and waited patiently for Meg to arrive. When she walked into the coffee shop we immediately hugged and then she lead me to the very back of the coffee shop to an attached room where an adorable little bakery was. We ordered some pastries and then made our way to the front of the coffee shop to order our coffee.

We sat down together by those big windows and started talking. I pulled out my camera and started taking pictures of Meg as we discussed life, motherhood, and spirituality. After finishing all my rolls of film, Andrew showed up shortly afterward to say hi to Meg and we said our goodbyes while hugging. As Andrew and I drove out of St. Alban’s we talked about how much has changed and all the people God is bringing into our lives. As I’ve grown over the past few years I am amazed by the number of people who I get to reconnect with who were in my past. That I get to establish a relationship with some of the most kindhearted and genuine people.

Sometimes we don’t realize how amazing a person is until we no longer talk to them but I’m grateful that I am getting a second chance to get to know these people who left such a huge impact on my life.
