Over the past few years of our family living in the middle of nowhere, one of our favorite activities has been finding new places to walk and hike. 🌳 For the longest time, we only ever knew of the hiking trails at Devil’s Lake State Park and it wasn’t until two years ago that we found out about Gibraltar Bluff in Lodi, Wisconsin. I discovered this trail when I was searching for good places to do a photoshoot to help expand my portfolio for engagement shoots. 📷

After doing a photo session there during sunset, ☀️ it quickly became an absolute favorite place of mine to hike and take pictures. Since then I’ve done a few other photoshoots there, including our family photos. This past summer we decided to take a family hike up to the bluff and I brought my handy Pentax A3000 and Kodak Gold 200 along with me. 🙌

I’m not usually up for hiking during the summer, too many bugs and humid weather, I always prefer to hike during the fall when the leaves and foliage start to change 🍂 but this hike wasn’t too bad. Plenty of mosquitoes but if you walk fast enough you can almost outrun them. 😂 Whenever we hike, we always take our camelback filled with water and some food so that we can sit at the top of the bluff and have a few snacks while enjoying the view as a family. 🗻
