I walked along the driveway into the backyard of Molly, the gracious host’s house. Her backyard looked like something straight out of a fairy tale with buckets of flowers, various plants, and tables of good food and drinks. When my dear friend Renee sent me the email inviting me to the yearly floral mixer, I immediately accepted. After having such an amazing time last year, I knew it would be another fun opportunity to photograph these beautiful and creative ladies all while getting to know them and their current endeavors better.

The night definitely did not disappoint. We all sat around Molly’s deck and talked with one another while the sun started to set, casting a beautiful glow over the whole scene. We talked about how our summers have been treating us and I listened while they talked about each of their businesses and how the wedding season has treated them individually. I stepped back and took pictures and even got to share my love for shooting with film and instax pictures by geeking out with the ladies and showing them my equipment. It’s opportunities like these that make being a small business owner so much fun. Getting a chance to take breaks from the hustle and bustle and converse and create with one another.
